We will surely be going into Sunday withdrawals for our Game of Thrones parties. It all started because of Peter and Eden, or Peden as we called them. Every time I saw Peter for Player rehearsals all he ever talked about was Game of Thrones. Even Creason and Calee talked about it, so Ronn and I decided to start watching from the beginning and got hooked. Just the sheer thought of twin brother and sister royalty having sex was enough to grab your attention. Then there was that little prick Joffery who everyone hated with a passion because he became king and wasn’t even a rightful one, but born out of incest. The characters are too numerous and the sword fighting and dragons draw you into a constant adventure every week trying to guess who will get the axe and who do you hate and want to see die anyway.
Now I rarely get into much television, but you couldn’t help but notice this series was bit different to say the least. It cost HBO approx $10million an episode and they took a year filming on location to produce 10 episodes a season. This is like watching an epic movie each week and following an ongoing serial medieval drama that has you excited to see what would happen next. Ronn has always had an affinity for the renaissance period, which may help explain his love to wrap scarves around his neck. The truth be known, Ronn Moss is completely in love with everything about this show, especially the cinematography. So I got the bright idea to have Sunday Game of Thrones dinner parties to have die hard Game of Throne fanatics like us, join in on all the fun!
We went all out for the finale and dressed up as some of our favorite characters. I required everyone to bring chicken in lew of the scene in the bar with “The Hound” when he wanted to eat some chicken and ended up killing a few of the kings men. Our theater was filled with our regular die hards as I call them. My neighbor Sue always brings over the most addicting brownies and included some killer home made mashed potatoes to boot! Dr. Donald and Lisa Waldrep and their adorable miracle twins, Carson and Gracie go beyond and above with their amazing hearts of gold. They always bring so much love, light and laughter to our parties and they have become part of our family. I think you all know by now who DevRonn and Peden are and we have added “The boys” as I like to call them to our family, Kristos Andrews, Gregori Martin and Derrell Whitt from “The Bay Series” and you complete our Sunday dinner tradition.
Everyone enjoyed getting dressed up for the grand finale and enjoyed the evening. The chatter afterwards about what we thought would happen next season went from speculating that John Snow would fall in love with the mother of dragons, to how much Sansa was changing her appearance with her new short dark hair. I think we will continue our Sunday gatherings to include our new Game of Thrones game compliments of Carson and Gracie!
Will that royal bitch Sussy ever get the axe? Will Aria reunite her family and use “Needle” to help her do so? Will that big Bitch fall in love with “The Hound” and save him? Will anyone sit on the throne in Kings Landing that isn’t a little boy? We will all have to wait until next year to find out.
