Charity For Charity
We attended a wonderful charity event in Temecula’s beautiful wine country to benefit Charity for Charity. This local charity gives a wish to a local family who has a terminal disease. We were invited by my gorgeous “Housewives of Orange County” star Peggy Tanous and her her husband Micah. Ronn really made Linda a happy woman as Linda is in stage 4 of breast cancer and was this year’s recipient.
We all had a lovely evening and then went wine tasting at the local vineyards the next day .Although we were granted a balloon ride over the vineyards, it was impossible for me to get Ronn out of bed, so I had to just settle for all the wine I
could drink. One of the local vineyards was “Cougar” and they are known for a wine called, “The Pink Cougar” which is a sweet Cabernet. Peggy and I couldn’t resist taking a pic in front of their sign. Ronn and I also discovered the best hamburgers just outside of Temecula in a little town called, Winchester. We had a fun weekend filled with good food, friends and wine and we will happily participate in this wonderful charity again.

11/11/11
This past weekend spent in West Palm Beach was sheer heaven. We were invited to attend the 24th annual “Boys and Girls Club” charity event by our host Jim Glidewell, who was introduced to us by our dear friends Wally and Lori Crowder. Jim flew us in his private plane along with a few other couples and we stayed on his yacht, “Ohana” as we attended the various events all weekend long. We had a lovely cocktail party Thursday evening and got to tour the other yachts in the harbor and was treated to a spectacular finale of fireworks. Now being on board a yacht is really quite an experience, since the crew pretty much caters to your every possible need 24/7. This beautiful 157′ floating palace has everything that an amazing first class hotel could have! The boys spent a lot of time having cocktails and smoking cigars, while the girls hung out drinking tea and chatting. Since Friday was 11/11/11 and Veterans Day, Ronn and I took a moment to meditate on our blessings and our Veterans and enjoyed the rest of the day getting to know our new friends. We then dressed up for a roaring 20s party that evening in held in the amazing Flagler Museum.
The first thing we saw when we walked in was this woman dressed in a red dress with this extremely long red train that went down the stairs.
Our last day was spent on the dock where a clambake of lobster, clams, steak and fried oyster po-boys were served. Later that evening we had our grand finale to this amazing weekend at Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Largo for a black tie silent auction dinner with the “Doobie Brothers” as our entertainment. Needless to say, it all felt like a dream. Perfect weather, food, company and entertainment. I don’t think we will ever forget what we did the weekend of 11/11/11 and will always be in gratitude for our Vets and this glorious weekend spent in West Palm Beach. Thank your Wally, Lori, Jim and Parvina for inviting us along. Truly an amazing memory for us.
What a Week!
Since we returned from PLAYER performing in Vero Beach it’s been non-stop for Ronn on B&B and me so I haven’t had time to blog until now. We had so much fun and want to thank our dear friend Robin Krasny for taking such good care of us with healthy food, wine and video taping the band. Ronn will be editing that footage soon to post something for you guys to see. I also want to thank my amazing friend Laura Poe for the wonderful pics she took onstage. It was nice to see some of my dearest friends like JoNell Gay and her daughter Isabelle who was born on my birthday. It had been years since I’d seen them, so it was very special for me.
The show was fantastic and we hope to have many more PLAYER concerts coming up! Our anniversary was certainly a memorable one. Thanks to Robin we stayed at the beautiful Vero Beach Hotel and Spa overlooking the beach.
We hung out with Peter Beckett and Eden Ayers and had a fun time until I slipped and fell and hit my chin in the pool, ouch! I was bruised and sore for a few days and jaw hurt badly. Luckily I’m feeling better now, but I couldn’t chew on one side of my mouth for a few days. The other day Ronn and I attended a fundraiser for the Humane Society. An invite from our friends Bob and Kira Lorsch. Many thanks to Ms. Lois Pope who gave 1 million dollars to such a worthy cause.
Remember I did a bunny PSA for them. I was happy to hear that many bunnies have gotten adopted since. Yesterday I did my first personal appearance in 5 years and saw some wonderful Playmates there, such as Cathy St. George, Corinna Harney, Ava Fabian and Teri Harrison. It was so nice to see many of you again after so many years and I do hope to do more in future if my schedule permits. Ronn was so sweet to help me set up my booth and lug all my merchandise, as well as, take photos with me and some of you guys. I’m now resting today and catching up on various writing projects. Looking forward to fall and cooler weather so that I can cook some of my soup recipes! check out this PLAYER video.
The Senior Prom
Ronn and I had a blast at the “Senior Prom Revisited” in Palm Springs. PLAYER was a an honored guest and performed a few songs.
All the band members brought their wives along for this charity event and had a blast. Peter even had a good time with Eden Ayers and Charlie Chaplin.
My pal Alana Curry and her boyfriend came along and had a blast.
Later we went to the home of Artist Christina De Musee’ who is a very colorful character.
Palm Springs seems to love PLAYER and they will be performing on a regular basis starting in Jan 2011 on Saturday nights.
They are also putting together a tour with America and Little River Band and will be doing the Hollywood Christmas Parade that will air on CBS.
Right now we are working on new cool PLAYER merchandise and will have more news about appearances, maybe in your area, soon!
The band really rocked their last night in Palm Springs and have been asked to perform at a prestigious country club’s anniversary party in March. More appearances are sure to be announced later as they are confirmed.
We would like to graciously thank Bette King productions for taking such great care of us and all the fans who came out to support PLAYER!
The Daytime Emmys
Vegas marked the first time the Daytime Emmys was held there and I don’t think it will be the last. The Hilton hotel hosted the event with a bevy of stars and fans. Ronn presented a special part of the CBS presentation of “Feed the Children”, a charity that helps American homeless families and Veterans. We visited the LA mission where Ronn interviewed a family with 5 little girls all living in one room. The father lost his job over a year ago, along with their home and all their belongings. Their 7 month old baby girl was born in the shelter, it was heartbreaking to see this type of homelessness is a realty in our country and we want to do all we can to help! The production of the Daytime Emmys was different, moved a lot quicker and was more entertaining. A tribute to Dick Clark brought a tear to everyone’s eyes. I met Dick Clark years ago and he told me he voted for me in the finals on Star Search and PLAYER was on American Bandstand with their hit song, “Baby Come Back” in 1978, so Dick is very special to us. We were doing the twist with Chubby Checker and The Bold and The Beautiful won their second “Best Drama” award! I predicted to Brad Bell who was sitting right next to us that he would win again and to get that speech ready at the beginning of the show. Drew Tyler Bell won along with the B&B writing team, so it was a Bell night and a much deserved one. The after parties were amazing.
We toured the remodeled ELVIS suite which was 16,000 sq ft and met Marie Osmond, Susan Lucci and Tony Orlando. Then we headed to the B &B/ Y & R bash at the Wynn hotel’s Tryst club. It was the coolest place and everyone danced their asses off all night long! Needless to say, Ronn and I were completely exhausted and got only a couple hours sleep. We believe the Daytime Emmys should be combined with the Prime time Emmys now. Because of the Internet, the networks need to realize how dumb it is to separate the two and the fans love to see all the stars that have been a part of their lives for decades. It’s time for them to wake up to the 21st century and get with the program here. Perhaps from this year’s broadcast they will finally know how loyal and devoted the daytime fans are and how necessary it is to to combine the two Emmys. Here are some highlights from the show.
Summertime Fun!
It’s hard to believe almost half the year is gone! Seems like yesterday we celebrating New Year’s Eve in Rome and Ronn was embarking on the Ballando challenge. Now that it’s all behind us, we have been focusing on our home and getting it into shape for summer parties. We plan to host a variety of smaller themed dinner parties, movie nights and BBQs of course. Everyone is now asking me about the next Jam party and I know we will have one, just not sure when or where? Seems between friends, kids and neighbors, everyone wants to Jam with Ronn and the band now.
I just can’t handle hundreds of people and kids running around my home, so I’m thinking of doing a charity event that will help boost “Devin’s Kickass Cajun Seasoning” and really help New Orleans. It just makes me so sad to see the devastation that my home state has endured. I know everyone ran to the rescue of the Haiti victims, including us, but folks we have major problems here in our own backyard to deal with and New Orleans needs your help! Ronn and I created this spice that is manufactured in Louisiana to help in a small way that we hope becomes large for this reason. We all need to do our part to preserve that area of the United States and it seems so little is being done down there? I urge you all to help us help the gulf by buying a spice and spreading the word to your friends, or buying one to give to someone as a gift. BBQ season is here and anyone who has tried the spice knows it’s amazing! So please do your part of help us help New Orleans. We are giving proceeds from the spice to Brad Pitt’s, ‘Make it Right” foundation who is already doing so much to help down there.
Also, if you want to see Ronn on Dancing with the Stars here in the US, please join this facebook page#mce_temp_url# to show your support. It seems ABC has never had anyone under contract on another network on the show. So with your support we can possibly change this dumb rule they have had in the past because with the Internet anything is possible right? Ronn and are planning to have a quiet Memorial Day weekend at home with the girls in gratitude for the men and women who died for our freedom. We wish you all a safe and great weekend.
Love DevRonn
A Blast of A Weekend
Last weekend was a blast of fun for Ronn and I when we participated in a celebrity gun shooting tournament that benefited our troops and Veterans. The event took place in Ojai and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. We were in good company with some old friends like Erik Estrada
, Tristan Rogers
and some of the cast members from “The Young and The Restless.” There were some real sharp shooters in the Sporting Clays competition, pistol and trap shoots. Who knew that “The Beaver” Jerry Mathers would be taking home the highest honors? Robert Carradine was on our team and Ronn did some pretty impressive shooting to say the least. I shot very well in the pistol competition, but we all need to practice a little harder for next year to beat the “Beaver!” The NRA put on this event along with “Associated Television” who is also doing the Daytime Emmys for CBS this year in Las Vegas! These guys did last year’s Emmys and do a first class event always. Everything was fabulous and Ronn and I can’t wait until the next one. We really had a blast and I want to practice my shooting for next year. Who knows, maybe I can give the Beav a little competition?
PLAYER rocked!
Saturday night was a emotional night for Peter and Ronn to join their original bandmate JC Crowley
to play onstage with them. It was the first time in over 25 years. Due to the fact that JC had throat cancer and had a 20% chance of survival back in 1994, he’s a walking miracle. His wife had never seen him sing, “Baby Come Back” with the band, so this was indeed a very emotional evening for all of them to reunite. This was a tribute to legendary producer, Dennis Lambert, so many artists that Dennis worked with over the past 40 years came out to sing one or two of their hits. Some of those artists that shared the stage with PLAYER included, “The Commodores, Natalie Cole and Connie Stevens.
We all celebrated after the show for a private party which included fans who flew in from Italy
just to see Ronn! Our very own webmistress, Patti Myers was there to make sure the event was covered for the website. We both think this is just the start of something bigger for PLAYER and hope that JC and Peter will start writing together again soon.
Another Fabulous Weekend
I kicked off the weekend with a night out with the girls for drinks at the Beverly Hills hotel’s 1912 bar and lounge. We had a blast as usual.

Then Ronn and I took his relatives visiting from Australia to the Reagan Library. It was a lot of fun and we got to go on board Air Force one.
Ronn and I attended the Desi Geestman annual charity event and surprised them with a check for $10,000. We felt so bad we didn’t win the Newlywed Game prize so we gave it to them anyway. It was a lovely evening under the stars with many soap stars in attendance. We then had a wonderful wedding reception thrown for us by our friends Bob and Kira Lorsch
It was also Kira’s birthday so we combined it with wedding cake compliments of my dear friend and bridesmaid Cindy Margolis and birthday ice cream, champagne, martinis and yummy appetizers. It was out by the pool and the weather was gorgeous. Many of Ronn’s B &; B cast and crew friends were there. I need to now take a break from too much champagne!
